@Darthintrepid and youse other guise -- just a suggesticism if I may? I hate getting spoiled just as much as anyone else, but there are those times I'm like "Daaamn, you see that shtuf, yo?" but I'm chillaxing alone, so ... also the times where a complex plot or resolution bears discussion, which other viewers could also potentially benefit from. Now, if there were, hypothetically speaking of course, other sites for movies and if I would have, at one time in the past, well..gone there and clicked at stuff, I might've seen one instance where spoilers could be left in, but the spoiler portion of the comment would not be visible unless you clicked on the activated "spoiler" icon within the comment. Had I ever been to such a place and seen such things, I would speak highly of them here, b/c I would have thought it an elegant solution and a friggin' grand idea...a best of both worlds type thing. All Hail Solar Movies. :) \
@themovieDr I agree... Crammed with fillers, the show has become directionless. Can't believe the poor level of scripting and directing that's currently going into the making of this 10-year old show. Now I'm going to be down voted by teen fanboys !
R+L=J! That same thing happened to me with the Artemis Fowl series. I'd read the first one the summer of freshman year [highschool]; then just last Christmas I was looking for books for my cousin and picked up the 3 graphic novels that are out. Mid-way through the first one I was like, hold on a second...why do I know this story. Dug into my old books, found it, and had a miniature mind-blow. I immediately bought the next SEVEN...such an awesome thing learning [and being surprised with] there's SO much more story than you'd thought. Ice has been reforged into two new blades. Two in reach they can use to kill the dragons. They need to find what happened to Ice so they have the steel back. there will be 7 books, so far Martin has 5 out and the 6th "Winds of Winter and then the 7th book "Dreams of Spring" are coming out who knows, he beats around the bush A LOT!!! I for one have wanted the nest installmet forever... i bought all the others on the day they released and finished them within days. I think the 5th was released June of 2011 so it has been a longgggg wait.. they're great books!!! as for the seasons on hbo, well i originally heard 7 seasons, a year for each installment of the book.. but i have read more then once now that the producers want to push for 8-9 seasons if the fan base stays true and hbo keeps want the VERY $$$$ series back for more. I read that they would simply stretch say season 5-6 for the book 5.. with as much material as the books have it can easily be done, the paperback reaching a 1000 pages for most. A Game of Thrones (1996) A Clash of Kings (1998) A Storm of Swords (2000) A Feast for Crows (2005) A Dance with Dragons (2011) The Winds of Winter (forthcoming) A Dream of Spring (forthcoming) He is 65 years old, what if he god forbids dies before he writes the last installmenthttp://www.solarmovie.tl/js/jquery-bbedit/smiley/cry.gif.. sheeshhh.http://www.solarmovie.tl/js/jquery-bbedit/smiley/sweat.gif Your comment had me thinking: I bet you he sold his soul to write a world-renowned, bestselling series of books; a chronicle that would put him down in history as one of the greatest writers if all time BUT: the trade off was that he would die after the final book was written/published (which is why he's taking his sweet time). WHAT IF?!http://www.solarmovie.tl/js/jquery-bbedit/smiley/huffy.gif there will be 7 books, so far Martin has 5 out and the 6th "Winds of Winter and then the 7th book "Dreams of Spring" are coming out who knows, he beats around the bush A LOT!!! They have a general idea of where each character is going. They also know how the book ends. A good chunk of ADWD will be combined with AFFC for the show because the events are happening at roughly the same time. Book 4 is Kings Landing and Book 5 is everywhere else. There is soo much important material that it could stretch 2 maybe 3 seasons. I also saw in an interview that GRRM is thinking of a movie for the finale to the book because he doesn't think HBO will have the budget for it. Blackwater cost around 15 million, so you can imagine what he has in mind for the end. His imagination is so effed up (in a good way) that I couldn't even begin to imagine what he has in store. Let's cross our fingers and hope he is in excellent health and can finish this series. GRRFatguts probably will! That's why I get annoyed that he's stuffing around with every other thing. When I see King Robert I think of good ole fatguts, drinking and whoring himself to death and leaving many loose ends (knock knock JRRTolkien). As for the series 'shelf life' I have seen a number of pre/reviews that have stated that the season we're watching now (4) will wrap up book 3 and start on book 4. Considering what's to come I wouldn't be surprised if they continued in this way until fatguts finishes writing the whole story. Well, he'll have to if they want to put it on TV! http://www.solarmovie.tl/js/jquery-bbedit/smiley/funk.gif Ok... there is something that the book danced around a lot that has me bothered all these years and the series only mentions here and there in season 1. Maybe one of you can shed light on my confusion. -Eddard's sister Lyanna, who was betrothed to Robert, was kidnapped by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, sparking the war. Her abduction by Rhaegar Targaryen was the event that ultimately triggered Robert's Rebellion and led to the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty. She is taken to the Tower of Joy.. I know That she is left heavily guarded when Rhaegar leaves to fight Robert and dies. Ned goes there and the kingsguard that is there kills his entire group but him and one other, ned see his sister just in tme in a bed of blood and she has a fever and makes him Promise her something... he is haunted by the promise from then on. my question could Jon Snow be the son of her and Rhaegar and thus being the third head of the dragon and thus being an heir to the Iron Throne. I mean for Ned to really cheat on Cat with all is honor is hard to swallow, i know there are two theories in the books of the mother, but they are not concrete... remember Ned only got truly mad, angry and frightful to Cat once.... when she told him to send the kid away, and he was like, shiiiittt chic no can do he is of my blood, even him always saying that could be because it is true, his sisters blood, he traveled back with her bones to Winterfell and ended up showing up with an infant child almost the same age is Rob. Just a thought.... Stannis threatens Jon, demanding him to be the King of The North and to marry the wildling princess and Jon doesn't break is vowels to The Watch as there Captain to take all that, even though it is very tempting, sooo maybe it ends up John is pretty much destined to be King of everything... and of that is true he is no bastard but son of Lyanna and heir to the Iron Throne via Rhaegar. A Targaryen!! http://www.solarmovie.tl/js/jquery-bbedit/smiley/biggrin.gif and last question did Lyanna get kidnapped because Rhaegar really loved her or was he mad and obsessed with her and really took her off and raped her and her hating him the entire time.... i mean did he seriously risk his kingdom for a very beautiful random girl or is it much deeper then that?? It is all very, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, isn't it..http://www.solarmovie.tl/js/jquery-bbedit/smiley/tongue.gif Jon has Kingsblood in his veins and he is an heir to the throne. Ned was away for a very long time and i believe his pain had more to do with the lie he told his wife. Ned is old skool and straight edge, he would never falter. He's a relic of the North but he passed that on more to Jon then anyone else. I believe Jon has dragonblood and will be able to ride a dragon and he will forge an alliance with Daeny. Jon is also straight edge, he will never take the throne. He's a man from the wall. Madness and greatness walked along Rhaegar but he was a warrior and a romanticus. When he won that tourney he passed his wife and put that flower in Lyanna's lap. A year later he 'kidnapped' her. The only one who ever spook bad about Rhaegar is Robert and Jaime. Jaime because he was jealous his sister spoke in such high regard of Rhaegar, Robert because Rhaegar stole Lyanna away. He could be both.[/quote] I totally believe Jon is Rhægar & Lyanna's kid. It not only explains the promise Ned made to his sister (and makes SO much more sense for his character)...but also ties in with the the title of the entire series: Ice = Jon Snow Fire = Dæny Targaryen P.S. I also have a feeling J & D are going to end up having a Luke & Layla moment. P.S.S. I WANT ICE DRAGONS (and for them to be Jon's...either that or he's able to find some form of control over white walkers) P.P.S**
I'm sure a lot (not all) of prima donna, vain, religious fanatics would be upset that the movie didn't follow the biblical story, but personally (as a christian) it doesn't bother me a bit. I haven't even watched the movie yet, but am extremely anxious to. I'm glad the story has been "beefed" up for our entertainment value. I do however; hope parents that allow their kids watch it, explain to them that it doesn't follow the actual King David version of the story. PLEASE!!!!!!! Will someone post a decent recording???!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!
Really enjoyed this movie. I thought Vanessa Hudgens did a great job. I'd give it a 8/10.. also wasn't sure about certain soundtrack choices.. but it's definitely a good drama watch about a struggling teen turned mother
