Сomments

pretty dumb, but it kept my attention and even tho i knew what was going to happen, i still wanted to watch.
Not a bad movie, I enjoyed it.
7/10
funny movie kind of
THIS MOVIE WAS REALLY FUNNY. JENNIFER GARNER WAS GREAT. MICHEAL DOUGLAS WAS GREAT AS UNCLE WAYNE!! MATTHEW MCConaughey WAS GREAT. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THE CRITICS BASH HIM!! ILL HAVE TO GIVE THIS MOVIE AN A-.
Note to screen writers out there: This is how to take a rusty old story and make it fresh again. I really was not expecting much of anything from this film. A friend of mine dragged me to it because he said he had heard that it was incredibly funny. Now, it takes the old Christmas tale from Charles Dickens and infuses it into a story about a guy who's a player but who has not found real love. On the surface, this movie is not deep at all, however when you watch it, you don't know what to expect next. Even up until the very ending, the only thing you know for sure is that the guy will get the girl. After all, it's an American film style and the guy always gets the girl, unless one or both are killed to make it into a Shakespeare type of tragedy. Luckily, this film is not a tragedy, but instead a decent comedy. The main star is the Hugh Grant of Romantic Comedies for today. It's a decent film, so go see it.
Beyond the obvious plot given away by the title, the movie itself is a feel good flic with the theme of convincing a hard line womanizer to be reminded of a sincere and undying love for his childhood first sweetheart. Bring your significant other and enjoy the brief retreat from the worlds current depressing situation and always judge a movie from the heart and not because critics trashed it from the get go. I gave it an 80% and both Matthew and Jennifer managed a winner here.
Horrible! Just avoid this movie completely. Don't even think about renting it when it comes out. Waste of money.
The film is about a bored playboy who after meeting his dead uncle played by Michael Douglas, encounters his 3 former spouses in the same formula as A Christmas Carol. Even with this type of formula, the film may seem creative, but hold on, it's dialogue is utterly unbearable, acting is mediocore, (with the only decent perfomance from Jennifer Garner, but Matthew Mconaghay overeacts to an extremely unnescassary level),the plot is illogically stupid, and this film, although had potential, seemingly chooses the worst ways to execute even while it had better choices, and it demonstrates how tired we are of cheesy and unoriginal romantic comedies, therefore, making the genre tedious and flat. Because of a lack of originallity, the film fall shorts in every possible way and by now, the romantic comedy genre is better left forgotten in the past.
Don't believe the critics. This movie is good although the first 20 minutes or so made me want to walk out. It got a lot better after that.

It is pro marriage. Pro good karma. This may be why the critics don't like it; it is almost counterculture in Hollywood. Not pro gay at all.

Jennifer Garner's lips are too full. Huge distraction. Embarassing.
My wife and I both enjoyed this movie, but spent the whole ride home discussing how it would have been better with someone other than Matthew McConaughy in the lead role. Just about anyone would have been better, from James marsden to tom Cruise or even Simon Pegg. Poor Jennifer Garner always does a great job in movies that should have been better.
