very sad and i cry especially when he dies and the mother is crying but anyways it was a goodmovie
Very good movie ...
Well of course children can distinguish different colors... my statement was a kind of metaphor. You can replace "see" with the word "judge" to make the statement a little more literal if that helps you to understand the meaning.
@AdmiralAdama " They do not see race, ethnicity, religion or color when they look at somebody."
I just want to say, Although I do agree with you, When my brother was younger aged 7 and whilst stood next to an African-British man, He spoke with a curious voice; "Excuse me, Why are you black?"
Curiosity is wonderful. (Which is what I think led the German boy to the concentration camp in the first place.)
A very sad but very good movie. the holocaust told from the perspective of an 8 year old German boy. I think it would be impossible for any child that young to comprehend exactly what was going on in their own backyard during that time. The world would be a much better place if people were as accepting as children. They do not see race, ethnicity, religion or color when they look at somebody. The content of a persons character is the only thing that a child judges. If the kid down the street is nice and fun to play with it does not matter whether he is black, white, catholic, Chinese or Muslim. The two will become friends.
I'm a 16 year old boy, and I cried. 10/10
Ending an anti-semitic comment with a smiley face, whether you truly believe what you wrote or are trolling doesn't make you funny or witty. Indeed, it only highlights your hatred and ignorance about the facts of a horrific period in history. Comments like yours make me sad for people who believe as you appear to and concerned for all of us. When anyone makes light of the Holocaust and treats it as a joke, even worse, as a fictional event, humankind is just one step closer to repeating such events and/or supporting attempts to eliminate entire groups of people based on religion, race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, etc. Shame. As far as the movie goes, I've seen it a few times and have found it heart wrenching each time. I encourage others to view this movie as it is very well done--next to Schindler's List and La vita è bella (Life is Beautiful), this is (imo) one of the most well done movies about the Holocaust.
LOL who's brainwashed? Seriously it must take a bath in meth a hose down with Pabst blue ribbon and a rinse in a trailer park toilet to wash away all the facts, footage, witnesses, books, testimony, survivors, archeological evidence, and so on that you must ignore to believe that the holocaust did not occur. Understandably though it's pretty well documented that poor white trailer trash have a brain capacity on par with a monkey (no offense to our primate friends) so brainwashing is not a difficult task. Probably as easy as driving around in a circle and turning to the left YEEE HAWWW! Thx for the laugh, now back to the trailer bust out your dictionary and get to work deciphering this Zionist code :D
I read the book and when I finished I literally had like a pain in my chest because it was just so sad :( I'm not sure if I could handle the movie or not.
Sawn this a few years ago, found it difficult to watch but enjoyed the journey, even though I was drenched at the end. If this doesnt touch you, nothing will. Just please, remember the tissues, you WILL need them.
Id love to watch it again but one must be in the right frame of mind for this type of heart clenching tale of friendship, immagination and innocence in a world of war, pain and torture. Very well put together. A definite MUST WATCH.
