Сomments

It's been some time since my last entry. I was going to post some reviews (keeping 'em short, as always) on two movies I saw during Winter Break... I remember that much. I also remember that the two movies to be reviewed are The Terminal and The Lawnmower Man.

The Terminal (2004)

Starring: Jeff Fahey, Pierce Brosnan
Directed by Brett Leonard

The story is intriguing enough, revolving around a retarded man who becomes a genious through a virtual reality program, but it could have used more work. The special effects are definitely dated now, but impressive for the time of its release. The acting is as it should be, never descending to horridness, but never really ascending to complete magnificence. It was interesting to view some of Brosnan's earlier work, at least. All in all, it's just a decent sci-fi flick.
WELL, IT IS CREATIVE, SOME INTERESTING SPECIAL EFFECTS. THE STORY IS A BIT EXTREME, THE ACTING IS JUST ADEQUATE. BONUS POINTS FOR IT'S IMAGINATIVE STORY, EVEN IF IT IS A FLAWED STORY.
The Lawnmower Man (1992): 4/10

Great! Original!

The Lawnmower Man (1992)

I haven't seen this in years but I actually really liked it when I was a kid. I always enjoyed the first half of the movie but it gets really weird towards the end. It's not as bad as everyone says but it's also not a great movie by any stretch either.
(**):
Thinner
Starring: Robert John Burke, Joe Mantegna, Lucinda Jenney, Michael Constantine, and Kari Wuhrer.
Directed by Tom Holland.
Written by Michael McDowell and Tom Holland.
Rated R (for horror violence and gore, language and sexuality).
Running time approximately 1 hour 32 minutes.

Nope.

The Lawnmower Man is so unbelievably bad, and it hurt me to watch. These actors stumble around spouting their technical jargon as the putrid special effects fail to thrill. It's predictable, it's insulting (the performance from Fahey is especially disgusting) and it's just plain dumb. I give it props, though, for being unintentionally funny, and I've upgraded my rating from a 0/10 to a 1/10 in accordance with such props-giving. 1/2* (out of ****) D-
This is below than average movie. I found many scenes specailly the ones done as animation extremely annoying to the eyes. It really hurts your eye. Maybe thats why the makers have decided to use the eye in their poster. Acting was just ok nothing so great. good concept but the movie does not live upto the expectations.
All in all this movie is out-dated and to be honest you would probably have more fun cutting the lawn rather than going through the ordeal of watching the lawnmower man..

I think this movie stinks as bad as one of those bio- chemical toilets. I tried to give this movie to a friend and we stopped talking because of it. I tried to bury it but it just wouldnt de-compose and then my dog dug it up choked on it and died. I tried throwing it in the trash but the bin cleaners specifically removed it from the rest of the junk and left it outside the house.. Finally i tried giving it away to some hobo and he baet me with it..

F'ing hate this movie
A scientist interested in helping people with lower mental capacity hooks a "slow" lawnmower man to a VR system and creates a monster. There, I told you the whole movie. There was a sequel of sorts too.
