this was my dad's favorite flick of all time...set up a tv/vcr in his hospital room so he could watch it...he died watchin' this movie..."WELL, THIS IS WHAT I CALL A MISSOURI BOAT RIDE".
Eastwood's best role. An archetypal revenge movie with a hint of redemption.
The Outlaw Josey Wales, another fantastic addition to Eastwood's butt-kicking film and directing career. Clint, as Josey Wales, embodies every myth and legend I've ever heard or read about the wild west. He's mean, hard, emotionless, and one bad dude with those double pistols. This film is actually quite simple in plot: it's the civil war, a band of union soldier thugs rides through Josey's hometown, murders his wife and son, wounds him, and leaves him a cold, bitter man burning up inside with vengeance in his heart. He joins the resistance and embarks on a journey of major woop-ass. Never has the outlaw life looked so sweet on screen before. Eastwood becomes Wales, which is at times terrifying as he ruthlessly guns down those who have stripped away all that he ever loved and held dear to his heart. This is a spectacular western with some incredible gun battles and many memorable one-liners supplied by the one and only Clint Eastwood. If you haven't seen this film I strongly recommend it; you will not be disappointed.

When everything you ever loved has been butchered and raped...

THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES
(CLINT EASTWOOD, 1976)
PG
2 HOURS 15 MINUTES
i'm not a fan of westerns as a rule. there were some great lines in this one though. and the conversation between him and ten bears was pretty fly.
The quote of the day is from Darrell Garrett. Good stuff... the alternatite title is "Africa... Ah-free-kah!", which is from "The Savage Girl".

Now for reviews...
The Savage Girl: A goofy jungle film from the 1930s. The main character is constantly drunk and the girl is apparenty "savage" because she lives in the jungle and doesn't speak English. I fell asleep through the middle and the DVD stopped working near the end. I really wasn't dissappointed by that.

Das Boot: Great film. Slept through part of it, but a great rendition of how the Germans were in WWII. (A good porno could be based on this... "Das Booty".)

The Boxer: An excellent film on the tensions in Northern Ireland with a boxing element. Just good filmmaking.

The Corporation: A look at how corporations operate. It exposes some of the many illegal, unethical, and disgusting acts of ruthless corporations that care only about profits. A good film for liberal-leaning people and conservatives who want to know why other people are liberal-leaning.

The Outlaw Josey Wales: Arguably Clint Eastwood's best movie. In my opinion, a close third behind Kelly's Heroes and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Great dialouge, good plot, and good action. A must see for Eastwod fans.

Otherwise, not much is happening. Working on Service for school, and on Saturday I will go out driving again. I work on Friday and I REALLY want to do a podcast this weekend. REALLY. Those who are interested -- post a comment.

Anyway, I guess I better get going, my bus leaves in a few minutes...

Sorry, for the lack of updates -- I'm working on SuperSite II now.

See ya!

The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976): 8/10

Another fantastic Clint Eastwood Western not quite as good as Unforgiven, but still certainly worth your time.
My Third favorite Western of all time. I loved the RPG feel of Josey picking up people as he went on his way. His dealing with the Indians was just awesome and the last stand was cool. And I love the end confrontation, click...click...click...
